Aug. 3, 2008 - The Price of a Dolphin's Smile
The dolphinarium of the Lithuanian Sea Museum is a major coastal attraction in Lithuania. A number of Lithuanian organisations oppose plans for expansion of the dolphinarium and the use of dolphins in captivity for human need, including commercial activities.
ANIMAL RIGHTS LITHUANIA published an announcement just before 2nd August, 2008, when a charity pop concert took place at the Sea Museum. The note was intended to draw a reader's attention to the constraints and deprivation experienced by the dolphins in captivity and the fact that the main non-profit purpose of the dolphinarium, dolphin-assisted therapy, has not yet proved to be effective enough to be justifiable.
